Chromium and Blood Sugar: What the Evidence Actually Says

Chromium is commonly included in glucose-support formulas, but the evidence is more mixed than supplement marketing often implies.

What chromium is

Chromium is an essential trace mineral. Supplemental forms are marketed for glucose metabolism and weight-related goals.

Evidence for glucose control

NIH's Office of Dietary Supplements says studies examining chromium for high blood sugar and diabetes have had mixed results. Some analyses report small improvements in glycemic measures, while other trials do not; clinical significance and who might benefit remain uncertain.

Medication interactions

NIH warns that chromium used with insulin, metformin or other antidiabetes medicines might increase the risk of low blood sugar. Chromium can also reduce absorption of levothyroxine when taken together.

How this relates to Gluco6

Gluco6 lists chromium as an ingredient. That fact does not allow us to transfer results from a chromium trial directly to the finished Gluco6 product without matching form, dose, population and study design.
